The 7 Day Motivate Me Challenge

Thursday 17th January was apparently the day that most people will slump in their new year’s resolutions. I guess it’s easy to understand why. With the festivities seemingly far behind us and the drudgery of the cold, dark winter ahead, it’s no surprise that we can find ourselves lapsing into giving up.

But fear not! This week is all about motivation. Why not take our 7 Day Motivate Challenge? Give it ago and you could find yourself refocused and revitalised. Back on track to achieving everything you set your heart on at the start of the year! Did you set your goals for 2019? If so, time to review them. If not, time to set them.

Unclear and undefined goals will lead to frustration.

  1. What is the overarching goal?
  2. Split that goal down into manageable steps. It doesn’t matter how small. Keep it realistic.
  3. Set a time frame for each step.
  4. Prioritise the steps and get the important ones done first.

One step at a time. Every step is a step closer!

YOU WERE NOT BORN TO FAIL

Today, look at how you define failure. If, for example, losing weight is your goal. Is failure eating a chocolate bar?

If eating a chocolate bar could simply be a moment of weakness, rather than a failure, you’re more likely to continue forward towards your goal.

Failure is giving up. Success will come if you fall and choose to get up again and keep moving forwards. If you can dream it, you can do it.

Today focus purely on the end result.

Imagine how it will feel when you finally get there. See it, taste it, feel it and believe it.

The more you focus on and believe in your desired outcome, the more likely you are to keep moving towards it.

If all you can see is obstacles, you’ve taken your eye of the goal. Most of us will experience a slump on the road to achieving our goals and dreams. And when this hits, it’s all to easy to enter a cycle of negativity, believing that we are unable to continue forward

STOP

Today remember how you felt when you started. Remember how it felt when you were taking steps and you felt the momentum. Remind your self of the highs and more will follow. Mantras can be powerful things. If you find yourself doubting your resolve, find a mantra to keep you on right track.

I am on the right path.

The Universe is conspiring to help me.

I’ve got this.

Nothing can stop me.

I can and I will.

I have the patience to succeed.

Repeat your mantra over and over and believe it. Stand tall and proud. Play that happy music. Keep telling yourself you can do it.

These simple things will elevate your mood and set you firmly back on the road to success.

If you force yourself to smile, your mood will lift. Scientific fact.

Don’t succumb to the slump, however you feel, move your body, stand straight and slap on that smile. You know, and I know that you can do it! This 7 day challenge has all been about getting you back on track with your goals and dreams if you’ve been feeling the January slump.

Review your progress and celebrate your success. It doesn’t matter how far you’ve come this week as long as you have moved forward from where you were on Monday!

Celebrate your success. Give yourself credit.

You’re on your way!
