April Full Moon Ritual – Overcoming Fear, Manifesting New Beginnings

Seasons, Moon Cycles and Celebrations

April Full Moon Ritual 2016 – The Full moon of April, known as the Seed Moon or Pink Moon falls on the 21st/22nd April, depending on where in the world you are. This particular moon is also referred to as a Mini moon as it is the smallest full moon of the year.

Spring is now well underway and much like the associations with Spring, The April full moon is energetically a great time to focus on new beginnings, new growth and the manifestation of ideas that have been brewing over the last few months.

Whilst this is a wonderful time to be optimistic about all the fruitful things ahead of you, some people may find that they are also experiencing contradictory astrological energies. With five planets currently in retrograde, this rare astrological phase can also be marked with fear and prejudice. This is however an opportunity to rise above these energies and consciously align yourself with thoughts, feelings and actions that serve your highest good.

Our words, thoughts and actions have a direct impact on our environment so be conscious during this period that you are using them wisely. Become aware of your spoken word and ensure you replace negative statements with positive affirmations. Likewise, consciously observe your thoughts and exercise self-kindness. Replace negative self-talk with compassionate compliments in your mind. Fearful words, thoughts and actions will only serve to make you an energetic magnet for the very things you are trying to avoid. Know that this chaotic astrological energy will soon pass and that the challenge of rising above it will only make you stronger and enhance your ability to consciously create and manifest.

For this full moon ritual, you will need a candle, pen and paper. As you normally would, you can prepare an altar space. As the nights are getting warmer, it is great if you can prepare your space outside. If not, try and find somewhere indoors where you can open windows. Your altar can include crystals (for this particular full moon, I would recommend Shamanic Dream Quartz, Green Opal and Blue Halite for manifestation. Red Jade, Picture Jasper and Smoky Quartz for managing fears), statues or ornaments, symbols of abundance and perhaps something from nature that signifies the start of spring.

Begin the ritual by spending some time relaxing your mind, body and spirit. Picture yourself underneath a silver waterfall and imagine the beautiful, magical waters cleansing you of your fears and negative feelings and emotions. Focus on how it feels as these harmful things are washed away and your spirit lightens.

When you feel ready and relaxed, allow your inner energy to connect with that of the moon. Allow your mind to drift to the thing or things that you would like to manifest in your immediate future. Visualise this as if it was already in your experience. Truly live it in your mind. When you have this truly established in your mind’s eye, ask yourself what action or quality do you need to cultivate over the coming weeks that will assist in bringing this vision into the material world. Try not to overthink this, simply go with the thoughts and instincts that come to you. When it feels right, note down what you need to cultivate and place it underneath the candle. Now light the candle and ask the moon to imbue the candle with the qualities or actions that you have chosen to foster. As you do this, focus on the flame and as the candle burns, imagine it sending out your intention to the universe and bringing your desired action/quality into your experience. When you have held this for a length of time comfortable for you. Blow out the candle and thank the moon for sharing its powerful lunar energy with you. Leave the candle and your written piece of paper out in the moonlight overnight. Bring it in the following day and keep the candle and paper together. When you feel you need a boost in the coming weeks, simply light the candle and spend some time focusing on the flame.

After you have finished your full moon ritual, consider holding this positive energy by doing something that makes you feel great! Perhaps cook a nutritious meal or simply curl up with a funny film. Whatever you choose to do, have a wonderful April Full Moon. Here’s to amazing things to come. With gratitude.
